Once again I missed a great album from last year, which I only got to hear this year:
The Whispertown 2000 - Swim
I have really enjoyed listening to music again this year and think it has been a really good year for music. The top four of these were pretty fixed by the middle of the year and nothing has really come close to replacing them in my affections. However the rest of the list, including those “bubbling under” could pretty much be in any order depending on the day or how the mood takes me.
My favourite album of the year came out in February and I’m still listening to it every week. The Damnwells gave away One Last Century as a free download (actually, it’ll cost you an email address) and later released it as a CD. Their previous album, Air Stereo, was my favourite of 2006.
