and Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross - The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
I think I may have enjoyed listening to music this year more than in any other year, which may have been helped by some really great records. My top three are outstanding records and on another day they could easily have been in a different order - I’ve listened to them way more than anything else this year and urge you to get them if you haven’t already. For me they, alongside 4 and 5 in my list, stood out way beyond anything else this year. Numbers 6-10 and the bubbling under records again could have been in another order on another day.
As ever, there is a great album from last year, which I only got to hear this year:
Brett Detar - Bird in the Tangle
The album is available as a free download (well, for the price of an email address) from his website, however, you should go for the beautifully packaged vinyl.
As for the song of the year, that is a difficult choice, and I can’t decide between these two: My Morning Jacket’s Holing On To Black Metal and Gillian Welch’s Tennessee.
